Job Description


Retail Operation

  • Accountability of day to day operations of appointed section
  • Sales targets
  • Maintain department standards
  • Housekeeping & cleaning of departments
  • Security of stocks
  • Dept Checklists are maintained every day.
  • Consolidation of best sellers & clearing of broken range.
  • Be personally available to customers.
  • Liaising with MCs & Warehouse in charge for Stocks.

Customer Service  

  • Available for customers at all times and not engaging in merchandising during peak hours.
  • Attentive to customer needs & providing personalized service.
  • Ensure Meet, Greet & Direct guidelines are adhered to & approach customers with a smile.
  • Reporting customer complains to managers for further action.

Product Knowledge

  • Thorough knowledge of stocks in section/ department.
  • Thorough knowledge of brands/ sub-groups/ suppliers/ categories, options & features of the product.
  • Providing information of missing items/ loss of opportunity.

Retail Standards

  • Department is always clean, neat, tidy, dust free & stain free.
  • Usage of right fixtures and not overcrowding the section with extra fittings.
  • Ensure cartons, plastics, paper and trolleys are not lying around.
  • Ensuring damage merchandise is not on display at all times.
  • Maintain density of stocks on arms and shelves.
  • Correct size cubes/ stickers & hangers are used in all merchandise.
  • Back store & floor should be ready for customers well before shop opening hours.
  • Fixture maintenance & ensuring fitting height & spacing is maintained.
  • Ensuring discipline & hygiene standards are maintained on the floor

Display & Merchandise

  • Liaising with VM, ACM/ CM & ensuring in-store displays are up to date & fresh.
  • Products are arranged in brand/ story/ collection.
  • Checking of Merchandise includes visual displays, mannequin display, stacking, ensure proper size cube/ stickers/ tags on merchandise, check on steaming, etc.
  • Display of relevant signages/ visuals & changing when not relevant.
  • Shuffling of products from wall units to gondola or stands when the range is broken.
  • Display to be changed post consultation with ACM/ CM.

Inventory management & Security

  • Ensure merchandise is received from warehouse in correct quantity from warehouse & other shops & duly acknowledged.
  • Ensure stocks are well replenished. No arms/ shelves are empty.
  • Ensure Consolidations are done on best sellers & broken ranges.
  • Monitoring of slow movers and provide timely feedback.
  • Ensure all stocks are security tagged.
  • Ensure movement of stocks is documented cross merchandising b/w Concepts, Warehouse, Suppliers & inter-location.
  • Global count/ perpetual inventory variance are well within the prescribed norms.
  • Contributing ideas to control pilferages & reporting to Managers if any unusual activities on floor
  • Ensure all supplier returns are done within stipulated time
  • Ensure that all damage stocks are sent back to WH as per norms.

Workplace Service  

  • Consistent qualitative feedback on merchandise.
  • Reports on defective & damage stocks.
  • Constantly monitor competitor activities.
  • Recommendations/ suggestions on clearing of slow moving stocks.
  • Ability to train staff on department with regards to product knowledge, merchandising, Retail Standards, consolidation & reports.
  • Market Intelligence and feedback
